What this site doesn't do

This site sets no cookies and saves nothing in your browser's storage. There are no analytics, no visitor counters, no tracking pixels and no fingerprinting, so nothing on the page is quietly working out who you are. It makes no third-party requests either: the fonts, scripts and images all come from this site, so no other company ever sees your visit. And there is nothing to sign up for or fill in, because there are no ads, no comments, no forms and no accounts.

I don't know who reads this site, when, from where, or how many times a post has been opened. That's on purpose.

What still happens

The site is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like any web host, GitHub receives your IP address and browser details in order to send you the page, and may keep them in its server logs under GitHub's privacy statement. GitHub Pages gives site owners no visitor statistics, so I never see any of it. The same applies when a feed reader fetches the RSS feed.

Links to other sites are ordinary links. Once you follow one, that site's own rules apply.

Check it yourself

You don't have to take my word for any of this:

  1. Open your browser's developer tools and reload the page. In the Network tab, every request goes to 0xblu3guy.github.io.
  2. In the Application (Chrome) or Storage (Firefox) tab, cookies and local storage are empty.
  3. View the page source. Near the top is a Content-Security-Policy tag: an instruction to your browser to refuse any script, font, image or connection from anywhere except this site. If a third-party tracker ever ended up on a page, your browser would refuse to load it.
  4. Read the code. The whole site is open source at github.com/0xBlu3Guy/blog.
